Days before the North American International Auto Show, Neosport, known for their advancements with hydrogen internal combustion engines (HICEV), unveils their latest creation, the third generation Alpha GT car, to the public, sporting its characteristic pointed nose, sweeping greenhouse, and ducktail rear spoiler.
The MkIII Alpha boasts a 3.7 HICEV V8 rated at 612 horsepower @ 5700 RPM and 650 lb/ft torque @ 7000 RPM, as well as an unofficial top speed of 190 miles per hour. The car sprints to 60 in a dizzying 2.7 seconds.
The appearance of the MkIII Alpha has also changed drastically from the controversial MkII. Neosport spokesman Bill Williams predicts a much more positive response to the new styling. It draws many design cues from the Inferno, a recent design concept unveiled at the 2015 NAIAS showcasing the company’s latest design language.
MSRP is predicted at an agreeable $85,000.

Okay, in all seriousness, the name “Neosport Alpha” is pretty important to me. The very first car I made I called the Neosport Alpha. The name is applied to certain milestones I reach as I become a better 3D artist. As you can see, the first incarnation seems like a trainwreck, and that’s because it... it is. BUT BUT BUT, it was the first car I made, so it’s still special to me. The second one is a relatively much better design overall, but there was still room for improvement, as there always is.
The MkIII is the most recent one. One of the biggest milestones for this generation is the fact that I started doing interior modeling, which I haven’t done for this one yet. I’ll get to it later though. I was just too excited to put off writing a post about it.
Another milestone is my newfound ability to make a tire sidewall map. Before this, my sidewalls have just been so boring. Now I can put labels on them, and of course I’m gonna do them in white, they just look better that way!
Omitting the expected advancements as a 3D/NURBS artist, that’s basically it.
I think the new design came out really well, and I hope you guys like it too!
Ignore the fact that the above render doesn’t have mirrors. They fell off when my dog ate my homework.

I really like the side profile, something weird is happening with the nose from the front though.

What do you mean?

It feels a little too pointy, like the middle is out too far in reference to the edge of the car. I think just reducing how far it comes out might help.

design is obviously stolen from the 1986 chevy celebrity

Still my favorite. Neosport mkII?

Yes- Wait, you like that one? Even I’ve admitted it’s not very good!

Definitely a looker. Good work. I’m getting hints of NSX in the front, but at least you managed to make it look good compared to the NSX’s mishmash of angles.

Thanks! I wasn’t really thinking about the NSX when I was making this though.

I’m liking the side profile, I’m getting a Cerbera Speed 12 vibe from it! The side is good work. However, the front could use some improvement. If I am completely honest I would say scrap the front and try a new sleeker design that matches the wonderful side design. It feels too fat when compared to the skinny profile of the side.

I’m not a huge fan of the rear, but if it switched with the mkIII, I would be in bliss. But overall, I do love the elongated hood, and the grill/splitter/lights combo up front!

I think this is your best one yet. But dude, centre pipes.

All i can see in that front end...
Dodge dart.

With that low hood, I suspect it’ll have to be an H8 instead of a V8...

Perhaps Bill Williams was wrong and it’s a flat-8. I’ll have to check with the engineers on that one.
